* CITY LIFE *
City life seems exciting. There is also the promise of higher income. But many migrants have realized that the excitement can be empty, the promise broken. The fast pace of life results in impersonal contacts among people. Migrants find it hard to earn a living. In the face of financial problems,migrants experience severe personal and Psychological difficulties. If you dream of a better life in the city, think again. Don't let your dreams turn into nightmares.
* NOURISHMENT AND INTELLIGENCE :
Adequate nourishment is linked with intelligence. An intelligent cchild is usually awell-nourished one. Don't neglect your child. Give himthe right kinds of foods. Make sure he is in good health because the healthier he is, the better his chances of learning of coping with life. Give your child that chance.
* EDUCATION'S PURPOSE :
How inportant is education? Only as important as its purpose. One who studies all his life,but is unwilling to serve his country, will not prosper. But someone who desires to serve will value education. He will use it wisely. For such a person, education is an opportunity, not a burden. An opportunity not only to prosper but also to serve others - to contribute to the welfare of his family, community and country.
* RURAL NEGLECT :
Urban centers continue to expand. But this is not a sure sign of national development. Why? That's because emphasis on urban development sometimess results in neglect of the countryside. Rural neglect pushes rural dwellers to go to the city, leaving their farms behind. Development should be balanced. It should not favor one sector over another. Rural development is essential to national development.
* DEVELOPMENT GROWTH :
Rapid population growth affects every aspects of life on earth. Food, health, housing, employment and environment-theseare all effected in a bad way. Basic necessities become expensive and difficult to get. You and your family are affected. Family welfare get. You and your family are affected. Family welfare and development become all the more difficult to achieve. Remember, there is only one way to survival and progress. The way is not through population growth,but through development growth.
* HOUSING :
Do you have a house of your own? If you do, you're lucky. Many others are not as lucky. Our cities are overcrowded because of migration and rapid population growth. Many migrants turn to squatting, And since housing construction requires large capital.many families are unable to afford houses of their own. For government, it becomes very costly to construct more houses for more people. The more families without houses, the more severe the housing problem. Remember, rapid population growth works against family welfare.
